Narrative:
I got a standard briefing from flight service but did not get any information concerning the stadium tfr for the special event that was scheduled to start in less than an hour. I just happened to know that the event was scheduled and my flight route was going to take me and my passenger very close to the stadium. When I specifically asked about the tfr; the briefer told me that he didn't have the schedule in front of him. I do a lot of cross country flying during the summer supporting the forest service in their effort to battle the summer fires. How am I supposed to know where all of these stadiums and tfrs are let alone know when the events are happening when flight service doesn't know? This time I didn't penetrate the tfr -- next time???callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that he has encountered this problem before in other areas of the country. He also clarified that he operates under part 135.
