Narrative:
During takeoff roll runway 25 den before or near 80 KTS I felt a swerve off centerline to left. I initially corrected with right rudder inputs to return to center after requiring increased rudder inputs without the normal response. This delayed response back to centerline caused me to abort the take off. The rejected takeoff was uneventful and we got back to centerline with rejected takeoff maximum braking engaged. We cleared the runway at B7 taxiway and stopped on taxiway bravo to have fire department inspect brakes. Left brakes rose to 600 degree and right side got as high as 700 degree. Brakes cooled after 20 minutes to 450 degree and we continued taxi back to the gate. Operations and maintenance were notified accordingly. Supplemental information from acn 699796: the fire trucks remained there till brakes cooled to approximately 450 degrees. Completed abort checklist and reviewed brake limits in flight manual. Taxied aircraft back to gate.

BRAKES COOLED AFTER 20 MINUTES TO 450 DEG AND WE CONTINUED TAXI BACK TO THE GATE. OPS AND MAINTENANCE WERE NOTIFIED ACCORDINGLY. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 699796: THE FIRE TRUCKS REMAINED THERE TILL BRAKES COOLED TO APPROX 450 DEGS. COMPLETED ABORT CHKLIST AND REVIEWED BRAKE LIMITS IN FLT MANUAL. TAXIED ACFT BACK TO GATE.
