Narrative:
While holding for departure for runway 5R at yip; we were cleared for immediate takeoff; after taxiing across hold line I determined the short final DC9 was too close. I advised ATC we would hold in position; the controller cleared us across runway 5R to hold in position on runway 5L. I again declined this clearance due to the proximity of the DC9. The controller sent the DC9 around and chastised us for not following directions. I advised I did not want to discuss on frequency. I called on the ground by land-line and discussed with the controller. He stated he was the best judge as to the proximity of the short final DC9. I advised that I felt the DC9 was too close and that was my decision as PIC. I will be on guard not to even appear to accept unsafe clrncs. The DC9 could have landed on top of us!

Title: C150 FLT INSTRUCTOR HAS RWY INCURSION AT YIP.
Narrative: WHILE HOLDING FOR DEP FOR RWY 5R AT YIP; WE WERE CLRED FOR IMMEDIATE TKOF; AFTER TAXIING ACROSS HOLD LINE I DETERMINED THE SHORT FINAL DC9 WAS TOO CLOSE. I ADVISED ATC WE WOULD HOLD IN POS; THE CTLR CLRED US ACROSS RWY 5R TO HOLD IN POS ON RWY 5L. I AGAIN DECLINED THIS CLRNC DUE TO THE PROX OF THE DC9. THE CTLR SENT THE DC9 AROUND AND CHASTISED US FOR NOT FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS. I ADVISED I DID NOT WANT TO DISCUSS ON FREQ. I CALLED ON THE GND BY LAND-LINE AND DISCUSSED WITH THE CTLR. HE STATED HE WAS THE BEST JUDGE AS TO THE PROX OF THE SHORT FINAL DC9. I ADVISED THAT I FELT THE DC9 WAS TOO CLOSE AND THAT WAS MY DECISION AS PIC. I WILL BE ON GUARD NOT TO EVEN APPEAR TO ACCEPT UNSAFE CLRNCS. THE DC9 COULD HAVE LANDED ON TOP OF US!
