Narrative:
Sitting at gate; 5 mins before push. Agent had just left and pulled the jetway back. Had not read the checklist yet. Brakes were set and never released. A baggage cart struck the aircraft extremely hard and could be felt throughout the aircraft by everyone. We wrote up the incident as 'baggage cart hit aircraft before brake release.' no brake release was confirmed by ACARS.

Title: A B767-300 STRUCK BY BAGGAGE CART AT GATE.
Narrative: SITTING AT GATE; 5 MINS BEFORE PUSH. AGENT HAD JUST LEFT AND PULLED THE JETWAY BACK. HAD NOT READ THE CHKLIST YET. BRAKES WERE SET AND NEVER RELEASED. A BAGGAGE CART STRUCK THE ACFT EXTREMELY HARD AND COULD BE FELT THROUGHOUT THE ACFT BY EVERYONE. WE WROTE UP THE INCIDENT AS 'BAGGAGE CART HIT ACFT BEFORE BRAKE RELEASE.' NO BRAKE RELEASE WAS CONFIRMED BY ACARS.
