Narrative:
I am on reserve for the first time in about 4 yrs. I was assigned a short-call line which would start at XA00 on jun/xa/06. At XA01 the crew desk called me with an assignment to fly a trip departing at XJ58 the next day. They woke me up at XA00 in the morning for an afternoon flight! What utter nonsense this is. Who bought off on this? I couldn't get back to sleep; and so after only 4 hours of sleep I'm supposed to fly safely? On the ground in ZZZ; while taxiing out; I made 3 mistakes within 10 mins; any of which could have caused an accident or cost my license. No more. If something had happened I would have been hung out to dry; and air carrier would just say 'he had legal crew rest.' what bunk. If you don't change this system soon; there will be a major accident and it will be fatigue!
