Narrative:
On takeoff from ZZZ1; I performed an abort when the 'left engine prv' light illuminated on EICAS. Abort was initiated at the '80 KTS' call; then the aircraft accelerated to 100 KTS before slowing. At taxi speed we cleared the runway onto a crossing runway; declared an emergency and had the crash fire rescue equipment crews check us for hot brakes. After a cooling period; we requested a tow back to the gate where a takeoff abort inspection was accomplished; the ETOPS inspection was redone; and the engine problem worked.

Narrative: ON TKOF FROM ZZZ1; I PERFORMED AN ABORT WHEN THE 'L ENG PRV' LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON EICAS. ABORT WAS INITIATED AT THE '80 KTS' CALL; THEN THE ACFT ACCELERATED TO 100 KTS BEFORE SLOWING.
