Narrative:
Captain's ADI and first officer's ADI lost color capability during climb out. Continued to cruise and switched to alternate symbol generator. Both ADI's continued to have problems. Worked with maintenance and notified dispatch and both unable to help solve problem. During troubleshooting the 'confign' warning on EICAS came on along with a radar altimeter fail message. Decided after exhausting all possibilities to remedy situation to return to iad instead of crossing the north atlantic at night. After coordination with dispatch; an overweight landing was deemed acceptable instead of dumping fuel. We then returned to dulles and performed a smooth landing and taxied to the gate and delivered the aircraft to maintenance.

Title: A B767-300 FLT CREW DEPARTING ON A TRANSATLANTIC FLT EXPERIENCED PROBS WITH BOTH ADI'S. AFTER CONSULTING MAINT; THEY RETURNED TO DEP STATION AND LANDED OVERWT.
Narrative: CAPT'S ADI AND FO'S ADI LOST COLOR CAPABILITY DURING CLBOUT. CONTINUED TO CRUISE AND SWITCHED TO ALTERNATE SYMBOL GENERATOR. BOTH ADI'S CONTINUED TO HAVE PROBS.
