Narrative:

We had discussed the issue of an inoperative thrust reverser on the ground at ord pertinent to the sna landing. We reviewed the MEL and did not see a restr for sna lndgs with an inoperative thrust reverser. I then reviewed the revision list. Due to a less than optimum printer quality in ord; I missed the revision by mistaking an 8 for a 0. MEL item 78-01 was the thrust reverser. I misread MEL message as MEL 70-1 so I did not follow up. I did not catch the error until later in the flight when the dispatcher notified us of the oversight. Supplemental information from acn 702192: we did not realize the situation until dispatch notified us via ACARS over abq. Diverted to lax.
