Narrative:
I contacted camarillo tower at 9 mi and was told to report back at 3 mi. I was flying west in late afternoon. Conditions were VFR but hazy. When I sighted the runway; I was less than 3 mi out and still at 2000 ft AGL. I contacted the tower and they cleared me to land. I pulled back all power and slipped the airplane to lose altitude. I was also checking for traffic as the airport was pretty busy. I lined up for final and reduced speed to 80 KTS. I dropped flaps 20 degrees and adjusted mixture and propeller; but did not verify the green gear light. I was also keeping my eye on a plane at the hold line that was told to hold short. On flare; tower told me to go around. I reached for the throttle but my propeller struck the runway and I was unable to recover; landing on the runway. During final I did not hear any audible warning about the gear. I will install a mirror under the wing to visually verify gear down. I will verify proper operation of the audible gear warning system with a mechanic. I will take a review/training flight with a CFI to refresh good habits.

I REACHED FOR THE THROTTLE BUT MY PROP STRUCK THE RWY AND I WAS UNABLE TO RECOVER; LNDG ON THE RWY. DURING FINAL I DID NOT HEAR ANY AUDIBLE WARNING ABOUT THE GEAR. I WILL INSTALL A MIRROR UNDER THE WING TO VISUALLY VERIFY GEAR DOWN. I WILL VERIFY PROPER OP OF THE AUDIBLE GEAR WARNING SYS WITH A MECH. I WILL TAKE A REVIEW/TRAINING FLT WITH A CFI TO REFRESH GOOD HABITS.
