Narrative:
Changed out right wing trailing edge flap position transmitter; reference log page. I just discovered that this affected the lower WX minimum performance status of the aircraft. I did not downgrade the aircraft's CAT status after completing the work. The aircraft was returned to service with an incorrect CAT status.

Narrative: CHANGED OUT R WING TRAILING EDGE FLAP POS XMITTER; REF LOG PAGE. I JUST DISCOVERED THAT THIS AFFECTED THE LOWER WX MINIMUM PERFORMANCE STATUS OF THE ACFT. I DID NOT DOWNGRADE THE ACFT'S CAT STATUS AFTER COMPLETING THE WORK. THE ACFT WAS RETURNED TO SVC WITH AN INCORRECT CAT STATUS.
