Title: A TECHNICIAN BELIEVES THE COMPANY SAFETY POLICY OF WEARING SAFETY VESTS WHILE WORKING ON OR SVCING PWR PLANTS IS IN CONFLICT WITH SAFETY PROCS IN THE MAINT MANUAL.
Narrative: COMPANY IMPENDING POLICY EFFECTIVE AUG/MON/06 OF WEARING SAFETY VESTS DIRECTLY CONFLICTS WITH THE SAFETY PROCS SPELLED OUT IN THE MAINT MANUAL. THE WEARING OF THESE VESTS POSE A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD TO MAINT PERSONNEL WHILE PERFORMING MAINT TASKS ON ACFT.
