Narrative:
I made a runway incursion due to reference to prior experience (assumption). Lengthy ATIS information that included taxiway closures that weren't currently so; a badly timed communication failure; and a feeling of needing to help the 182 out of the way of heavier commuter traffic. I kept trying to make the most prudent decision with the information I had; but in retrospect; without the feeling of pressure to stay out of the way of other taxiing traffic at a busy airport; I should have just stopped in place and held them up until I got the problem fixed or clarified. The controller's instructions to taxi to runway via the txwys that were notamed closed confused us; and it would have been helpful to me to have had him somehow tell me his expectation was for me to utilize those; versus go the 'open' way that I had just gone.
