Narrative:
A crack was found on l-hand turbine inlet case. I notified a technical lead on shift; who notified maintenance controller and was given a 10 hour release to fly the aircraft. I filled out in conjunction with a technical lead a non routine form. Item was correct at a later date. Item was documented on a non routine no serial number was never recorded on the work package.

Title: AN MD80 L ENG WAS DISCOVERED TO HAVE A CRACK ON THE TURBINE INLET CASE. ENG WAS GIVEN A 10 HR FLY-BACK. TECHNICIAN FAILED TO ENTER ENG SERIAL NUMBER ON FLY-BACK AUTH.
Narrative: A CRACK WAS FOUND ON L-HAND TURBINE INLET CASE. I NOTIFIED A TECHNICAL LEAD ON SHIFT; WHO NOTIFIED MAINT CTLR AND WAS GIVEN A 10 HR RELEASE TO FLY THE ACFT.
