Narrative:
On the seavu 1 STAR approach switched runway from runway 25R to runway 24R. Fp reprogrammed arrival and failed to select the transition. He then executed the arrival without checking with me and before I could stop him. This deleted the route segment after cataw; which was less than 1 mi away. I immediately heading selected the aircraft to seavu while I programmed the FMC. Aircraft went 1-2 mi west of course.
