Narrative:
On STAR glen rose 8 arrival we passed jumbo intersection and ATC said hold at jumbo as published. ATC then changed the holding fix and said hold at runney as published. Captain questioned it because it was not on the STAR. ATC corrected itself and back to jumbo hold. I ask the captain if he wanted me to set him up for the hold and he said he would do it himself. He armed the hold but I'm not sure if he 'dto' hold in the FMS for the last step; at the time I started to do a fuel calculation. This could have caused an incorrect entry. We were at the fix only for a few mins. ATC didn't give us much time. Supplemental information from acn 710565: apparently; the only method acceptable to enter holding is to proceed direct using the direct command from the holding page and not the normal 'direct to' procedure if the fix has been passed. Suggestions: have flight proceed along route to next holding fix. This would give crew time to set up holding.
