Narrative:
Descent into lax. Prior to konzl we were given the seavu 1 for runway 24R. When we put that into our FMS; it intermittently went into a standby mode. I continued to make the descent restrs but I believe we were getting off course. I advised socal approach and they gave us an amended clearance to dixxn. Our FMS was slow but it took the new arrival. No traffic conflicts were reported or observed.
