Narrative:
After landing on and clearing runway 31L we turned right onto taxiway J and held short of runway 31R. We requested clearance to taxi. The controller cleared us to taxi via taxiway C and to hold short of runway 31R at taxiway B. Taxiway C lies between and parallel to runways 31L and 31R. On taxiway J we were already past the taxiway signage for taxiway C and could not turn around to get back to taxiway C without crossing the runway 31R hold short line on taxiway J. I was confused as to the exact location of taxiway C since we were already beyond the signage for taxiway C. I was under the (mistaken) impression that taxiway C was still in front of us and I indicated to my copilot to continue straight ahead to reach taxiway C. It was at this point the ground controller indicated that we were not cleared across runway 31R and that we should stop immediately. We did stop and the airplane had crossed the hold short line; but did not enter the runway.

Title: C560XL CITATION FLT CREW HAS A RWY INCURSION AT PSP.
Narrative: AFTER LNDG ON AND CLRING RWY 31L WE TURNED R ONTO TXWY J AND HELD SHORT OF RWY 31R. WE REQUESTED CLRNC TO TAXI. THE CTLR CLRED US TO TAXI VIA TXWY C AND TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 31R AT TXWY B. TXWY C LIES BTWN AND PARALLEL TO RWYS 31L AND 31R. ON TXWY J WE WERE ALREADY PAST THE TXWY SIGNAGE FOR TXWY C AND COULD NOT TURN AROUND TO GET BACK TO TXWY C WITHOUT XING THE RWY 31R HOLD SHORT LINE ON TXWY J. I WAS CONFUSED AS TO THE EXACT LOCATION OF TXWY C SINCE WE WERE ALREADY BEYOND THE SIGNAGE FOR TXWY C. I WAS UNDER THE (MISTAKEN) IMPRESSION THAT TXWY C WAS STILL IN FRONT OF US AND I INDICATED TO MY COPLT TO CONTINUE STRAIGHT AHEAD TO REACH TXWY C. IT WAS AT THIS POINT THE GND CTLR INDICATED THAT WE WERE NOT CLRED ACROSS RWY 31R AND THAT WE SHOULD STOP IMMEDIATELY. WE DID STOP AND THE AIRPLANE HAD CROSSED THE HOLD SHORT LINE; BUT DID NOT ENTER THE RWY.
