Narrative:
After takeoff the crew realized that both the captain and first officer barber poles were at 260 KTS. Check QRH and FM vol #1 tried altitude air data computer. Consulted with dispatch and maintenance. Captain and dispatcher decided to divert to jfk. Captain declared emergency; proceeded to jfk and made an overweight landing. Supplemental information from acn 713921: employee found vmo/mmo switch in altitude position. Look closer at cover switch to make sure is in normal position.

Narrative: AFTER TKOF THE CREW REALIZED THAT BOTH THE CAPT AND FO BARBER POLES WERE AT 260 KTS. CHK QRH AND FM VOL #1 TRIED ALT ADC. CONSULTED WITH DISPATCH AND MAINT.
