Narrative:
Yesterday; our crew started the day out late due to strong headwinds. Dispatch and my concern was whether or not we would get into our next city before local for noise abatement. On the last leg of the day we pushed out of las and I was still in the hustle mode. As we were approaching runway 25R for takeoff I pressed the attendant call button. Immediately after that; tower cleared us for position and hold. I waited for the flight attendants to acknowledge the bell and then asked for the before takeoff checklist. The first officer proceeded with the checklist. We finished the checklist while taking the runway. Final was clear and the first officer asked me if the aircraft on approach was landing on our runway. I replied no he's not. That's when I realized I had proceeded well over the centerline and immediately initiated a right turn. I may have crossed over the left runway edge line; but did not leave the pavement. Just as I initiated the turn the first officer said 'whoa...whoa...whoa...' I brought the aircraft back to centerline as tower cleared us for takeoff. He asked me if we were ok to take off. I replied we didn't hit a light and we were ok to proceed. (When taxiing on a taxiway or a runway you always feel cracks in the pavement or the bumps from the centerline lights. I did not feel any such bump.) the first officer and I got together later and discussed the event. He had seen the dirt from his perspective and thought we may have gone off the runway. He did an extremely thorough inspection of the aircraft on postflt walkaround and found no damage to the airplane. This event definitely made me realize I need to slow down; don't push the first officer and follow procedures so to always have a clear line of communication.

Title: A B737-700 FLT CREW TAXIING INTO POS ON THE RWY AT LAS BECAME MOMENTARILY DISORIENTED AND ALMOST LEFT THE MARKED SURFACE.
Narrative: YESTERDAY; OUR CREW STARTED THE DAY OUT LATE DUE TO STRONG HEADWINDS. DISPATCH AND MY CONCERN WAS WHETHER OR NOT WE WOULD GET INTO OUR NEXT CITY BEFORE LCL FOR NOISE ABATEMENT. ON THE LAST LEG OF THE DAY WE PUSHED OUT OF LAS AND I WAS STILL IN THE HUSTLE MODE. AS WE WERE APCHING RWY 25R FOR TKOF I PRESSED THE ATTENDANT CALL BUTTON. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THAT; TWR CLRED US FOR POS AND HOLD. I WAITED FOR THE FLT ATTENDANTS TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE BELL AND THEN ASKED FOR THE BEFORE TKOF CHKLIST. THE FO PROCEEDED WITH THE CHKLIST. WE FINISHED THE CHKLIST WHILE TAKING THE RWY. FINAL WAS CLR AND THE FO ASKED ME IF THE ACFT ON APCH WAS LNDG ON OUR RWY. I REPLIED NO HE'S NOT. THAT'S WHEN I REALIZED I HAD PROCEEDED WELL OVER THE CTRLINE AND IMMEDIATELY INITIATED A R TURN. I MAY HAVE CROSSED OVER THE L RWY EDGE LINE; BUT DID NOT LEAVE THE PAVEMENT. JUST AS I INITIATED THE TURN THE FO SAID 'WHOA...WHOA...WHOA...' I BROUGHT THE ACFT BACK TO CTRLINE AS TWR CLRED US FOR TKOF. HE ASKED ME IF WE WERE OK TO TAKE OFF. I REPLIED WE DIDN'T HIT A LIGHT AND WE WERE OK TO PROCEED. (WHEN TAXIING ON A TXWY OR A RWY YOU ALWAYS FEEL CRACKS IN THE PAVEMENT OR THE BUMPS FROM THE CTRLINE LIGHTS. I DID NOT FEEL ANY SUCH BUMP.) THE FO AND I GOT TOGETHER LATER AND DISCUSSED THE EVENT. HE HAD SEEN THE DIRT FROM HIS PERSPECTIVE AND THOUGHT WE MAY HAVE GONE OFF THE RWY. HE DID AN EXTREMELY THOROUGH INSPECTION OF THE ACFT ON POSTFLT WALKAROUND AND FOUND NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE. THIS EVENT DEFINITELY MADE ME REALIZE I NEED TO SLOW DOWN; DON'T PUSH THE FO AND FOLLOW PROCS SO TO ALWAYS HAVE A CLR LINE OF COM.
