Narrative:
Landing runway 5; windshear reports ahead of us -- 10 KTS increase on final. Wind reported 330 degrees/10 KTS; gusts 18 KTS; then 310 degrees/8 KTS. Asked for wind check; 1 mi final. Wind 280 degrees/12 KTS. Went around; requested runway 23. Then wind changed to 310 degrees to 330 degrees at 8 KTS. We landed runway 31. Tower should announce wind whenever shifts to tailwind more than 8-10 KTS. Many jets maximum tailwind is 10 KTS. If we hadn't asked; they may not have announced tailwind.
