Narrative:
As I waited for my takeoff clearance at orl airport; the tower controller cleared me for takeoff on runway 7. My takeoff clearance was given to me as follows: 'cleared for takeoff; no delay on the rollout.' as I'm reading back the clearance; positioned within 10 ft from the holding lines; I advanced the throttles on the turbo propeller aircraft. Within seconds of my readback; the controller (tower) once again gives me the same exact clearance adding that the aircraft on final is 3 mi out. At this time I firmly told the controller to either clear me for takeoff or cancel the takeoff clearance. The controller immediately canceled the takeoff clearance while I was already positioned for takeoff. The takeoff cancellations caused the aircraft on final to go around at the controller's request. There was plenty of time for takeoff; but the controller cancelled the clearance anyway.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: KING AIR PLT HAS DISAGREEMENT WITH ORL TWR OVER TKOF CLRNC 'WITHOUT DELAY.'
Narrative: AS I WAITED FOR MY TKOF CLRNC AT ORL ARPT; THE TWR CTLR CLRED ME FOR TKOF ON RWY 7. MY TKOF CLRNC WAS GIVEN TO ME AS FOLLOWS: 'CLRED FOR TKOF; NO DELAY ON THE ROLLOUT.' AS I'M READING BACK THE CLRNC; POSITIONED WITHIN 10 FT FROM THE HOLDING LINES; I ADVANCED THE THROTTLES ON THE TURBO PROP ACFT. WITHIN SECONDS OF MY READBACK; THE CTLR (TWR) ONCE AGAIN GIVES ME THE SAME EXACT CLRNC ADDING THAT THE ACFT ON FINAL IS 3 MI OUT. AT THIS TIME I FIRMLY TOLD THE CTLR TO EITHER CLR ME FOR TKOF OR CANCEL THE TKOF CLRNC. THE CTLR IMMEDIATELY CANCELED THE TKOF CLRNC WHILE I WAS ALREADY POSITIONED FOR TKOF. THE TKOF CANCELLATIONS CAUSED THE ACFT ON FINAL TO GO AROUND AT THE CTLR'S REQUEST. THERE WAS PLENTY OF TIME FOR TKOF; BUT THE CTLR CANCELLED THE CLRNC ANYWAY.
