Narrative:
We were practicing crosswind lndgs on runway 36 at MSL. We had been in traffic for about 15 mins making calls on CTAF 123.05. The C172 approached from the west for downwind to runway 29. After the near miss we asked if he had heard our radio or if he had made calls himself. He said that he must have been on the other communication. I think our view of him was blocked by our wing. We did not see him until he flashed by in front of us. We are now making clearing turns on downwind!
