Narrative:
We were on a 2.5 mi approach to dvt at 700 ft AGL descending at 500 FPM. At that point the engine stopped and we made a power off landing in the desert approximately 1/2 mi east of dvt airport. No injuries occurred and there was no damage to property on the ground. The airplane sustained minimal damage mainly from bushes striking leading edge of the wings. The problem seems to have arisen due to clogged fuel vents in the right wing tank. The clogged fuel vent caused the gauge on the right wing to indicate significantly more fuel than was in the right tank. The left tank had over 1 hour of fuel in it.

Title: BEECH BE36 PLT HAS ENG FAILURE ON FINAL AND EXECUTES AN OFF FIELD LNDG.
Narrative: WE WERE ON A 2.5 MI APCH TO DVT AT 700 FT AGL DSNDING AT 500 FPM. AT THAT POINT THE ENG STOPPED AND WE MADE A PWR OFF LNDG IN THE DESERT APPROX 1/2 MI E OF DVT ARPT. NO INJURIES OCCURRED AND THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO PROPERTY ON THE GND. THE AIRPLANE SUSTAINED MINIMAL DAMAGE MAINLY FROM BUSHES STRIKING LEADING EDGE OF THE WINGS. THE PROB SEEMS TO HAVE ARISEN DUE TO CLOGGED FUEL VENTS IN THE R WING TANK. THE CLOGGED FUEL VENT CAUSED THE GAUGE ON THE R WING TO INDICATE SIGNIFICANTLY MORE FUEL THAN WAS IN THE R TANK. THE L TANK HAD OVER 1 HR OF FUEL IN IT.
