Narrative:

We were cleared for the localizer D approach into gillespie via radar vectors. We contacted gillespie tower and reported grigg as requested. We were then told to follow a malibu midfield. By this time we had descended below MDA; with the airport in sight. Tower turned another aircraft in toward us. At this point; and at no point did we cancel IFR. We executed a climb; followed the malibu. Abeam midfield we reported to tower. They cleared us to land on runway 27L; #2 behind a cessna. We followed the lesson; turned base; and again were instructed to climb. We climbed and were handed off to another controller. The next controller informed us that we were executing a go around. At this point we had only climbed as requested. I then spoke very frankly and asked him what he wanted us to do. This was met by a request by tower to enter downwind. Finally we were cleared to land; and landed safely. 1) this controller had too many aircraft he was trying to work. More than once he said 'this isn't going to work.' 2) we were cleared for an approach. We descended below MDA. He should have adjusted traffic. Instead he turned an aircraft on a collision course less than 1 mi; same altitude. 3) while this was happening; he was launching more aircraft from the ground; further complicating the issue.

Title: GA PLT ON IFR APCH TO SEE EXPERIENCED CONFLICT WHEN; ON SHORT FINAL; WAS TOLD TO FOLLOW TFC IN THE PATTERN RESULTING IN GAR AND CONFLICT.

Narrative: WE WERE CLRED FOR THE LOC D APCH INTO GILLESPIE VIA RADAR VECTORS. WE CONTACTED GILLESPIE TWR AND RPTED GRIGG AS REQUESTED. WE WERE THEN TOLD TO FOLLOW A MALIBU MIDFIELD. BY THIS TIME WE HAD DSNDED BELOW MDA; WITH THE ARPT IN SIGHT. TWR TURNED ANOTHER ACFT IN TOWARD US. AT THIS POINT; AND AT NO POINT DID WE CANCEL IFR. WE EXECUTED A CLB; FOLLOWED THE MALIBU. ABEAM MIDFIELD WE RPTED TO TWR. THEY CLRED US TO LAND ON RWY 27L; #2 BEHIND A CESSNA. WE FOLLOWED THE LESSON; TURNED BASE; AND AGAIN WERE INSTRUCTED TO CLB. WE CLBED AND WERE HANDED OFF TO ANOTHER CTLR. THE NEXT CTLR INFORMED US THAT WE WERE EXECUTING A GAR. AT THIS POINT WE HAD ONLY CLBED AS REQUESTED. I THEN SPOKE VERY FRANKLY AND ASKED HIM WHAT HE WANTED US TO DO. THIS WAS MET BY A REQUEST BY TWR TO ENTER DOWNWIND. FINALLY WE WERE CLRED TO LAND; AND LANDED SAFELY. 1) THIS CTLR HAD TOO MANY ACFT HE WAS TRYING TO WORK. MORE THAN ONCE HE SAID 'THIS ISN'T GOING TO WORK.' 2) WE WERE CLRED FOR AN APCH. WE DSNDED BELOW MDA. HE SHOULD HAVE ADJUSTED TFC. INSTEAD HE TURNED AN ACFT ON A COLLISION COURSE LESS THAN 1 MI; SAME ALT. 3) WHILE THIS WAS HAPPENING; HE WAS LAUNCHING MORE ACFT FROM THE GND; FURTHER COMPLICATING THE ISSUE.
