Narrative:

After landing on runway 29 at ZZZ; I was told to exit at taxiway foxtrot and contact ground. After contacting ground; I was given clearance to taxi to the FBO. Before taxiing; I went through the after landing checklist which consisted of leaning the mixture (other items were also completed). In order to reach the FBO I needed to proceed to taxiway foxtrot; echo; across alpha; proceeded to lima; and lastly across papa. When reaching the end of taxiway lima I advanced the throttle in order to gain forward momentum to cross papa; at that time the engine coughed and shutoff. I proceeded to attempt to restart the engine. Once I placed the mixture full forward; there was a loud bang and then flames and smoke followed immediately. I exited the aircraft as quickly as possible and observed several people and firefighters trying to extinguish the flames. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Title: A PA32 EXPERIENCED AN ENGINE FIRE AFTER LNDG.

Narrative: AFTER LNDG ON RWY 29 AT ZZZ; I WAS TOLD TO EXIT AT TXWY FOXTROT AND CONTACT GND. AFTER CONTACTING GND; I WAS GIVEN CLRNC TO TAXI TO THE FBO. BEFORE TAXIING; I WENT THROUGH THE AFTER LNDG CHKLIST WHICH CONSISTED OF LEANING THE MIXTURE (OTHER ITEMS WERE ALSO COMPLETED). IN ORDER TO REACH THE FBO I NEEDED TO PROCEED TO TXWY FOXTROT; ECHO; ACROSS ALPHA; PROCEEDED TO LIMA; AND LASTLY ACROSS PAPA. WHEN REACHING THE END OF TXWY LIMA I ADVANCED THE THROTTLE IN ORDER TO GAIN FORWARD MOMENTUM TO CROSS PAPA; AT THAT TIME THE ENGINE COUGHED AND SHUTOFF. I PROCEEDED TO ATTEMPT TO RESTART THE ENGINE. ONCE I PLACED THE MIXTURE FULL FORWARD; THERE WAS A LOUD BANG AND THEN FLAMES AND SMOKE FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY. I EXITED THE ACFT AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE AND OBSERVED SEVERAL PEOPLE AND FIREFIGHTERS TRYING TO EXTINGUISH THE FLAMES. THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE HAS NOT YET BEEN DETERMINED.
