Narrative:
Aircraft overnighted. The morning crew made a maintenance log entry requesting oil service. Contract maintenance (FAA a&P) svced the #1 engine with 9 pints. I believe gpm oil consumption monitoring program procedures were not correctly followed. External oil leak check should have been complied with prior to departing; as the engine had not gone over 20 flight hours without oil service. The #1 engine also should have been placed on an oil watch prior to departing ZZZ. The #1 engine has had a recent history of increasing oil use and is averaging a .52 pint per hour consumption; over the past 103.8 flight hours. Which per procedure requires further inspection prior to aircraft being dispatched.
