Narrative:
In position for takeoff on runway 27L. Tower cleared us for takeoff with no delay. Power was advanced and we rolled for takeoff. Just before rotation we heard tower tell another flight landing on runway 14R to go around. When we crossed the intersection of runway 27L and runway 14R we were approximately 3300 ft AGL. We looked to the right and saw the MD80 in his go around at the same altitude coming right at us. It appeared that he was approximately 1/2 way between the end of runway 14R and runway 27L/14R intersection. My guess was he was about 1/2 mi away. It looked pretty close. I think tower needs to allow more time between these takeoff and lndgs when using this runway confign.

Title: MD80 DEP FROM ORD ON RWY 27L EXPERIENCED POTENTIAL CONFLICT WITH LNDG TFC ON RWY 14R; ATC ISSUED GAR TO RWY 14R TFC.

IT APPEARED THAT HE WAS APPROX 1/2 WAY BTWN THE END OF RWY 14R AND RWY 27L/14R INTXN. MY GUESS WAS HE WAS ABOUT 1/2 MI AWAY. IT LOOKED PRETTY CLOSE. I THINK TWR NEEDS TO ALLOW MORE TIME BTWN THESE TKOF AND LNDGS WHEN USING THIS RWY CONFIGN.
