Narrative:

Aircraft at gate; marshalling and parking normal. Aircraft stopped exactly on parking spot. Neither captain or first officer noted anything unusual during parking or marshalling. After deplaning aircraft; captain was informed by ground personnel that we had a 3 inch dent in the #2 engine outboard cowling. Belt loader appeared to have struck engine. Aircraft towed to hangar for repairs.

Title: DENT OF UNCERTAIN ORIGIN APPEARS ON L OUTBOARD ENG COWLING OF A319 SUBSEQUENT TO APPARENTLY UNEVENTFUL MARSHALLED PARKING PROC. BELT LOADER MAY HAVE STRUCK ACFT.

Narrative: ACFT AT GATE; MARSHALLING AND PARKING NORMAL. ACFT STOPPED EXACTLY ON PARKING SPOT. NEITHER CAPT OR FO NOTED ANYTHING UNUSUAL DURING PARKING OR MARSHALLING.
