Narrative:
On prado departure procedure was climbing ATC called traffic at 10 O'clock position; called in sight. They called air carrier Y traffic at 2 O'clock position; he responded in sight. On TCAS observed traffic conflict RA to level. Once clear traffic air carrier Y asked ATC what was that about? She responded you both had visual separation. We were not told to maintain visual separation. We were on departure procedure. Poor judgment on ATC; failed to maintain separation.

Title: CARJ AND AIRBUS EXPERIENCE LOSS OF SEPARATION AND TCAS RA AFTER ACKNOWLEDGING THE OTHER ACFT IN SIGHT WITH ATC. ATC ADVISES THEIR MUTUAL DECLARATION OF TFC IN SIGHT CONSTITUTED ACCEPTANCE OF VISUAL SEPARATION RESPONSIBILITY.
