Narrative:
Prior to departure from we received our flight papers and the plan was to arrival jfk with 6000 pounds of fuel. Having flown in from jfk the previous day we realized there may be a need for altitude deviations en route due to turbulence. Therefore; the captain elected to add approximately 1200 pounds of fuel for the flight (upping the arrival fuel to 7200 pounds). Following an uneventful early departure/taxi and takeoff; the first third of the flight was flown as per the flight plan. Passing the rockies; reports stated the airspace ahead had moderate chop/turbulence from FL300-400. We elected to descend to FL290 to avoid the chop. During the descent we had to seat the flight attendants due to the ride and kept them seated approximately 20 minutes. By descending; we lost a 75 knot tailwind and instead had a 55 knot (approximately) headwind. By approximately stl; we realized we needed to climb to flight plan altitude due to fuel considerations and began a climb. At FL370; we notified dispatch we were now planning on arriving jfk approximately 5000 pounds remaining. Approaching vhp; with WX good at jfk; we continued and watched the fuel closely; updating the howgozit. Around rod; we notified the center we were tight on fuel and then when we checked in with cle center told them we were declaring min fuel. Cle center gave us some direct routing and upon entering ny airspace we reiterated our min fuel status. When we were handed over to ny approach control; and after being vectored slightly for spacing; we told them we could not take any more delays and they asked us for total time remaining/sobs. At approximately 5000 pounds; we told them we had 45 minutes remaining. They subsequently vectored us for a visual approach to runway 31L (the departure runway) to expedite. Upon landing we got the low fuel warning at approximately 4700 pounds.

Title: B757 CREW DECLARES MIN FUEL DURING CROSS COUNTRY FLT TO JFK.
Narrative: PRIOR TO DEP FROM WE RECEIVED OUR FLT PAPERS AND THE PLAN WAS TO ARR JFK WITH 6000 LBS OF FUEL. HAVING FLOWN IN FROM JFK THE PREVIOUS DAY WE REALIZED THERE MAY BE A NEED FOR ALT DEVIATIONS ENRTE DUE TO TURB. THEREFORE; THE CAPT ELECTED TO ADD APPROX 1200 LBS OF FUEL FOR THE FLT (UPPING THE ARR FUEL TO 7200 LBS). FOLLOWING AN UNEVENTFUL EARLY DEP/TAXI AND TKOF; THE FIRST THIRD OF THE FLT WAS FLOWN AS PER THE FLT PLAN. PASSING THE ROCKIES; REPORTS STATED THE AIRSPACE AHEAD HAD MODERATE CHOP/TURB FROM FL300-400. WE ELECTED TO DSND TO FL290 TO AVOID THE CHOP. DURING THE DSCNT WE HAD TO SEAT THE FLT ATTENDANTS DUE TO THE RIDE AND KEPT THEM SEATED APPROX 20 MINUTES. BY DSNDING; WE LOST A 75 KNOT TAILWIND AND INSTEAD HAD A 55 KNOT (APPROX) HEADWIND. BY APPROX STL; WE REALIZED WE NEEDED TO CLB TO FLT PLAN ALT DUE TO FUEL CONSIDERATIONS AND BEGAN A CLB. AT FL370; WE NOTIFIED DISPATCH WE WERE NOW PLANNING ON ARRIVING JFK APPROX 5000 LBS REMAINING. APCHING VHP; WITH WX GOOD AT JFK; WE CONTINUED AND WATCHED THE FUEL CLOSELY; UPDATING THE HOWGOZIT. AROUND ROD; WE NOTIFIED THE CTR WE WERE TIGHT ON FUEL AND THEN WHEN WE CHECKED IN WITH CLE CTR TOLD THEM WE WERE DECLARING MIN FUEL. CLE CTR GAVE US SOME DIRECT ROUTING AND UPON ENTERING NY AIRSPACE WE REITERATED OUR MIN FUEL STATUS. WHEN WE WERE HANDED OVER TO NY APCH CTL; AND AFTER BEING VECTORED SLIGHTLY FOR SPACING; WE TOLD THEM WE COULD NOT TAKE ANY MORE DELAYS AND THEY ASKED US FOR TOTAL TIME REMAINING/SOBS. AT APPROX 5000 LBS; WE TOLD THEM WE HAD 45 MINUTES REMAINING. THEY SUBSEQUENTLY VECTORED US FOR A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 31L (THE DEP RWY) TO EXPEDITE. UPON LNDG WE GOT THE LOW FUEL WARNING AT APPROX 4700 LBS.
