Narrative:
At XA30 I was called into work for air carrier X. I was informed the aircraft had a nose taxi light broken. I arrived at the airport at XB50. The nose taxi light lamp was broken. Only the front of the lamp was broken and missing. The back of the lamp and wire terminals remained in the taxi light housing assembly. At this time I removed and replaced the nose taxi lamp per the aircraft maintenance manual. The new lamp tested ok. At this time I signed off the logbook and the aircraft departed. I received a letter from an aviation safety inspector that in ZZZ that the nose taxi light lamp was missing and under investigation.
