Narrative:
I have been informed on feb/sat/07; that a self disclosure has been generated regarding the aircraft and log pages. I was the available receiving inspection (rii) for a borrowed part from another airline. Part was an engine starter. The part received from another airline stated mfg part number with a document. The ipc reference MD80 chapter. The effectivity of the aircraft is 133. To confirm that all these manufacturer part numbers are interchangeable. For computer display shows that all above noted manufacturer part numbers are interchangeable. During accessing for computer display part; under general part number comments it stated; 'this part is airworthiness directive effected. Do not purchase or use any unit distributed by a specific company.' nowhere under any documents from the other airlines; MD80 ipc; airlines loan/borrow documents; did it mention anything about the specific company about this particular airworthiness directive. I have to my fullest ability utilized gpm. During the above noted receiving inspection (rii) and MD80 ipc; as well as all other documents generated by the other airline and our airline for the loan borrow process. Also; the part was received in good condition during the receiving phase of the part.
