Narrative:
This aircraft had 2 MEL items -- no APU and deferred ice protection temperature system (cannot use engine or wing anti-ice). En route the right air condition supply temperature high light came on; did checklist; light went out. 2 pieces of trim from the cabin were found on the floor in the cockpit. First officer's eyeball vent stuck open. Segment light in my FMA out. Cabin crew reported the onboard credit card reader did not work. We could not take the aircraft due to possible necessity for anti-ice; so I completed all the write-ups. There is a trend not to write up anything on the MD80. I am getting airplanes with up to 5 placards on deferred items. And it is always when you are rushed. Maintenance has been deferring as much as possible. The night prior the MD80 technician I called said we had 28 MD80's out of service. This trend to not write up anything is in my opinion; unsafe. I will refuse an aircraft in the future if I feel safety has been compromised.
