Narrative:
A fuel leak on aircraft r-hand wing was idented as stain per maintenance manual. The technician assigned to the job was mr X and I was the lead on this aircraft. The item was deferred to be examined daily. A deferral was mentioned and I decided to use that deferral code. But further observation shows that option was if the leak shows progression. I should have observed the sentence after the word 'if.' no repair is necessary. Examine the fuel leak frequently (daily) to make sure it does not get larger. If; after a week; the leak has not progressed; the inspection interval can be increased to an 'a' check interval (deferral code).
