Narrative:
I was landing at mgc (michigan city; in) at the end of an IFR flight from 19A (jefferson; GA). Upon reaching VFR conditions; I canceled IFR with sbn approach control. The approach to landing went well; stabilized; lights on runway; and VASI lights. There was moderate crosswind and at touchdown a strong gust hit and 1 wheel went off runway into snow and mud. Plane came to stop in drainage ditch with a bent propeller. No injuries. The wheel in the snow was in so deep it pulled the plane off the runway.
