Narrative:
While on 12-14 NM final at 4000 ft a compressor stall on the #1 engine was experienced with classic compressor stall vibrations and high temperatures. Quick reaction checklist; flight manual and normal checklists were completed in compliance with standard emergency/abnormal procedures. Additionally; an emergency was declared. Once secured at idle; normal idle indications were obtained. Due to degraded status appropriate checklists and confign were obtained/completed for the approach and landing. Remainder of approach/landing was uneventful.
