Narrative:
Atop crashed during a busy 5 track night. The nom proceeded to bring up our backup system which also crashed. For about 30 mins no ATC service was provided at all in ny oceanic airspace. Between 1 and 2 hours later; ny oceanic began accepting traffic after declaring ATC zero after ensuring the safe passage and coordination for all remaining aircraft over the ocean.

Title: ZNY CTLR DESCRIBED ATOP FAILURE FOLLOWED BY BACKUP EQUIP FAILURE RESULTING IN NO ATC OCEANIC SVC FOR 30 MINS.
Narrative: ATOP CRASHED DURING A BUSY 5 TRACK NIGHT. THE NOM PROCEEDED TO BRING UP OUR BACKUP SYS WHICH ALSO CRASHED. FOR ABOUT 30 MINS NO ATC SVC WAS PROVIDED AT ALL IN NY OCEANIC AIRSPACE. BTWN 1 AND 2 HRS LATER; NY OCEANIC BEGAN ACCEPTING TFC AFTER DECLARING ATC ZERO AFTER ENSURING THE SAFE PASSAGE AND COORD FOR ALL REMAINING ACFT OVER THE OCEAN.
