Narrative:
I was reading the checklist while the captain taxied to runway 32. Our taxi route was directly into the sun. I was periodically monitoring our progress when I thought I saw a hold short sign pass off my right side. I said; 'was that the ILS hold line?' just then the ground controller said; 'stop!' apparently there was an old hold short line that had been painted over with gloss black paint. With the reflecting sun on it; it actually stood out better than the new yellow lines. The captain was taxiing to the old line. Old lines should be sandblasted off -- not painted over.

Title: CORPORATE ACFT INADVERTENTLY CROSSED A RWY HOLD SHORT LINE AT AEX; IN PART BECAUSE THE OLD HOLD SHORT LINE WAS STILL VISIBLE EVEN THOUGH IT HAD BEEN PAINTED OVER.
