Narrative:
I mistakenly connected a jumper wire (performing engineering order) pin #3 on ballast/dimmer connector ps92p2. The jumper wire should have been connected to ballast/dimmer connector ps92p1 pin #3 instead. My operational check upon completion of engineering order was successful. I was working with who was showing me how it was done; as he had performed the same engineering order on the previous day. Engineering order contains a potentially misleading illustration of the components involved. The ballast/dimmer is shown in opposite confign and orientation to actuality. Also connector ps92p1 was not labeled next to the connector; but some ways down the harness on what appears to be a harness label.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: CRJ-700 ACFT HAD MIS-PINNED LAVATORY LIGHT DIMMER CONNECTORS. THE ENGINEERING ORDER DIAGRAM TO DEACTIVATE DIMMER WAS MISLEADING.
Narrative: I MISTAKENLY CONNECTED A JUMPER WIRE (PERFORMING ENGINEERING ORDER) PIN #3 ON BALLAST/DIMMER CONNECTOR PS92P2. THE JUMPER WIRE SHOULD HAVE BEEN CONNECTED TO BALLAST/DIMMER CONNECTOR PS92P1 PIN #3 INSTEAD. MY OPERATIONAL CHK UPON COMPLETION OF ENGINEERING ORDER WAS SUCCESSFUL.
