Narrative:
I was the PIC of helicopter X performing a local electronic news gathering flight and was returning to vny airport. I was given a frequency change to vny tower by bur tower and made my initial call inbound approaching van nuys city hall. Upon my initial contact; I advised the tower that I had fixed wing traffic at my 11 O'clock position and requested a stagg arrival to the northwest corner. The tower gave me a TA of outbound traffic at van nuys city hall and requested that I call approaching the stagg/405 intersection. I advised the tower that I had the outbound helicopter and acknowledged that I would report at the stagg/405. Upon approaching the stagg/405; I advised the tower and was given a clearance to cross mid-field and land at the northwest corner. As I crossed over the 405 freeway on the stagg arrival; I immediately saw out of my peripheral vision through my chin bubble a helicopter pass directly under the nose of my aircraft from my 1 O'clock position to my 11 O'clock position. I then saw the other helicopter; now to my left; turn right; paralleling my heading. Upon seeing this; I immediately initiated a climb and veered to my right. I continued to climb; offsetting to the right as I saw the other helicopter continue a right turn towards me. I crossed mid-field and was given another TA for a departing helicopter northbound on the west side of the airport. I acknowledged I had that traffic in sight and landed.

Title: EUROCOPTER PILOT HAS NMAC WITH BELL 205 AT 1300 FEET APPROACHING VNY FROM THE EAST.
Narrative: I WAS THE PIC OF HELI X PERFORMING A LCL ELECTRONIC NEWS GATHERING FLT AND WAS RETURNING TO VNY ARPT. I WAS GIVEN A FREQ CHANGE TO VNY TWR BY BUR TWR AND MADE MY INITIAL CALL INBOUND APCHING VAN NUYS CITY HALL. UPON MY INITIAL CONTACT; I ADVISED THE TWR THAT I HAD FIXED WING TFC AT MY 11 O'CLOCK POS AND REQUESTED A STAGG ARR TO THE NW CORNER. THE TWR GAVE ME A TA OF OUTBOUND TFC AT VAN NUYS CITY HALL AND REQUESTED THAT I CALL APCHING THE STAGG/405 INTXN. I ADVISED THE TWR THAT I HAD THE OUTBOUND HELI AND ACKNOWLEDGED THAT I WOULD RPT AT THE STAGG/405. UPON APCHING THE STAGG/405; I ADVISED THE TWR AND WAS GIVEN A CLRNC TO CROSS MID-FIELD AND LAND AT THE NW CORNER. AS I CROSSED OVER THE 405 FREEWAY ON THE STAGG ARR; I IMMEDIATELY SAW OUT OF MY PERIPHERAL VISION THROUGH MY CHIN BUBBLE A HELI PASS DIRECTLY UNDER THE NOSE OF MY ACFT FROM MY 1 O'CLOCK POS TO MY 11 O'CLOCK POS. I THEN SAW THE OTHER HELI; NOW TO MY L; TURN R; PARALLELING MY HDG. UPON SEEING THIS; I IMMEDIATELY INITIATED A CLB AND VEERED TO MY R. I CONTINUED TO CLB; OFFSETTING TO THE R AS I SAW THE OTHER HELI CONTINUE A R TURN TOWARDS ME. I CROSSED MID-FIELD AND WAS GIVEN ANOTHER TA FOR A DEPARTING HELI NBOUND ON THE W SIDE OF THE ARPT. I ACKNOWLEDGED I HAD THAT TFC IN SIGHT AND LANDED.
