Narrative:
We were cleared by ATC to climb and maintain 7000 ft while heading to intercept V165 before valey intersection. VFR traffic which previously reported having us in sight came to a minimum separation of 500 ft. The TCAS climb RA led us to a vertical speed of 1000 FPM. The escape maneuver exceeded by 1000 ft the ATC assigned altitude. I believe cause was controller error or too many aircraft on frequency. I had reported the TA 2 times to controller with no response when I got the RA and evaded per procedure. I reported the RA three times before controller acknowledged. I don't believe there was much danger of actual collision as the other aircraft was VFR in cruise below at 6500 ft and we were awaiting next step-climb.

Title: FALCON 900 CREW RESPONDS TO TCAS RA CAUSED BY VFR TRAFFIC 500 FEET BELOW THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY REPORTED BY THE CONTROLLER.
Narrative: WE WERE CLRED BY ATC TO CLB AND MAINTAIN 7000 FT WHILE HEADING TO INTERCEPT V165 BEFORE VALEY INTXN. VFR TFC WHICH PREVIOUSLY RPTED HAVING US IN SIGHT CAME TO A MINIMUM SEPARATION OF 500 FT. THE TCAS CLB RA LED US TO A VERT SPD OF 1000 FPM. THE ESCAPE MANEUVER EXCEEDED BY 1000 FT THE ATC ASSIGNED ALT. I BELIEVE CAUSE WAS CTLR ERROR OR TOO MANY ACFT ON FREQ. I HAD RPTED THE TA 2 TIMES TO CTLR WITH NO RESPONSE WHEN I GOT THE RA AND EVADED PER PROCEDURE. I REPORTED THE RA THREE TIMES BEFORE CTLR ACKNOWLEDGED. I DON'T BELIEVE THERE WAS MUCH DANGER OF ACTUAL COLLISION AS THE OTHER ACFT WAS VFR IN CRUISE BELOW AT 6500 FT AND WE WERE AWAITING NEXT STEP-CLB.
