Narrative:
I was captain of an airbus A300 departing bwi. The first officer was flying the aircraft and climbing out from bwi on the TERPZ1 RNAV departure (ldn transition). The ldn transition incorporates a turn from the west (terpz-jocco-wonce) to the southwest (wonce-jimme). We flew 250 KIAS (FMS tact) to terpz and past terpz above 10000 ft; I selected econ on the FMS tact page. Leaving jocco; the aircraft showed the above mentioned turn; but we noticed that it did not show us exactly overlying wonce intersection. Although wonce is not an overfly fix; the FMS did lead the turn by quite a bit. ATC called us on this by stating that they showed us 4-5 mi east of wonce during the turn. I mentioned to them that our navigation system leads the turn. He then vectored us towards the west. Not being sure if this was a deviation issue; I am submitting this report. For safety purposes; I am recommending that wonce be considered an overfly fix.

Title: A300 FLT CREW REPORTS BEING QUESTIONED BY ATC ABOUT THE LARGE RADIUS TURN THAT THE AIRBUS FMS MAKES TURNING OVER WONCE ON THE TERPZ 1 OUT OF BWI.
Narrative: I WAS CAPT OF AN AIRBUS A300 DEPARTING BWI. THE FO WAS FLYING THE ACFT AND CLBING OUT FROM BWI ON THE TERPZ1 RNAV DEP (LDN TRANSITION). THE LDN TRANSITION INCORPORATES A TURN FROM THE W (TERPZ-JOCCO-WONCE) TO THE SW (WONCE-JIMME). WE FLEW 250 KIAS (FMS TACT) TO TERPZ AND PAST TERPZ ABOVE 10000 FT; I SELECTED ECON ON THE FMS TACT PAGE. LEAVING JOCCO; THE ACFT SHOWED THE ABOVE MENTIONED TURN; BUT WE NOTICED THAT IT DID NOT SHOW US EXACTLY OVERLYING WONCE INTXN. ALTHOUGH WONCE IS NOT AN OVERFLY FIX; THE FMS DID LEAD THE TURN BY QUITE A BIT. ATC CALLED US ON THIS BY STATING THAT THEY SHOWED US 4-5 MI E OF WONCE DURING THE TURN. I MENTIONED TO THEM THAT OUR NAV SYS LEADS THE TURN. HE THEN VECTORED US TOWARDS THE W. NOT BEING SURE IF THIS WAS A DEV ISSUE; I AM SUBMITTING THIS RPT. FOR SAFETY PURPOSES; I AM RECOMMENDING THAT WONCE BE CONSIDERED AN OVERFLY FIX.
