Narrative:
Aircraft X took off out of ZZZ1 and experienced continuous automatic ignition on for several seconds. Contacted dispatch and maintenance control; conferred and decided to instruct the aircraft to return to ZZZ1. WX conditions in ZZZ2 were heavy thunderstorms. Flight would encounter a lengthy period of rain en route. Flight crew detected the problem in-flight and advised dispatch and maintenance control.

Title: A CRJ-200 ACFT EXPERIENCED CONTINUOUS AUTO IGNITION 'ON' FOR SEVERAL SECONDS DURING CLIMB.
Narrative: ACFT X TOOK OFF OUT OF ZZZ1 AND EXPERIENCED CONTINUOUS AUTO IGNITION ON FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. CONTACTED DISPATCH AND MAINT CTL; CONFERRED AND DECIDED TO INSTRUCT THE ACFT TO RETURN TO ZZZ1. WX CONDITIONS IN ZZZ2 WERE HVY TSTMS. FLT WOULD ENCOUNTER A LENGTHY PERIOD OF RAIN ENRTE. FLT CREW DETECTED THE PROB INFLT AND ADVISED DISPATCH AND MAINT CTL.
