Narrative:
Descending via the civet 5 through FL190; directed to increase airspeed 40 KTS to 320K; change radio frequency; change runway from ATIS specified runway 25L to runway 24R; change altimeter setting. All this at the crucial moment where the civet 5 turns onto final approach course. Workload at this point resulted in an overshot of final approach course. Corrected back with heading select. Controller temporarily restricted us to 14000 ft until re-established on final. Approach completed with no further anomalies.

Title: A B757-200 FLT CREW ON THE CIVET ARRIVAL TO LAX IS GIVEN A LATE RWY CHANGE; AIRSPEED CHANGE; ALT SETTING; AND FREQ CHANGE AS THEY APPROACHED THE FINAL APCH COURSE. THE DISTRACTIONS LED TO A TRACK DEV AS THEY FLEW THROUGH THE COURSE.

ALL THIS AT THE CRUCIAL MOMENT WHERE THE CIVET 5 TURNS ONTO FINAL APCH COURSE. WORKLOAD AT THIS POINT RESULTED IN AN OVERSHOT OF FINAL APCH COURSE. CORRECTED BACK WITH HDG SELECT. CTLR TEMPORARILY RESTRICTED US TO 14000 FT UNTIL RE-ESTABLISHED ON FINAL. APCH COMPLETED WITH NO FURTHER ANOMALIES.
