Narrative:

Approximately 10 mins into cruise; a strange 'cooking type' odor was detected in cockpit. Odor got stronger quickly; and flight attendants called reporting same odor. We declared an emergency and asked to land at ZZZ2. We complied with our emergency procedures for smoke/fumes -- dumping fuel -- and asked for emergency equipment to be standing by at ZZZ2. Uneventful smooth landing 5K overweight. Uneventful taxi to gate. Smoke/fumes never increased during descent. No assistance needed on ground.
