Narrative:

Upon controled landing and with gear extended and with green lock light engaged; gear collapsed; causing belly landing onto runway 26 at ZZZ. No injuries and minor damage to aircraft with propeller strike and scraping to underside of aircraft. No visual damage to either wing and aircraft was jacked up to a point where the gear was lowered and aircraft was pushed off the runway. Conditions at time of incident were unlimited visibility and winds of approximately 260 degrees at 12 mph with gusts of 22 mph. Due to 2 incoming aircraft; I made my downwind leg approximately 1.5 mi to allow landing aircraft to clear runway 26. Gear down was applied abeam the threshold of runway 26 and the extended downwind was figured for after position calls from the other aircraft. Approach and flare were good and a good approach speed of approximately 75 mph was maintained. The main gear appeared to send me into the air just a bit when the johnson stick disengaged from its holding position and contact was made with the runway and a slight skidding to the right where the final resting stop was made at mid-runway length. Fuel was shut off; the master was turned off; and the plane was shut down. Evacuate/evacuation was quick and immediate. Upon inspection; by the local police; off the runway; we found the propeller impact point and a tire imprint showing a swerving motion for about 30-40 ft; leading directly into the skidding motion and scraping on the runway -- the two appeared to be exacting and following the aircraft to its final location in a slight right turn but remaining on the runway. Witnesses state seeing the gear down but possibly not all the way down and locked; as what was seen by me (the pilot) was a locked and down gear indication. Some state seeing the gear 'at a 45 degree angle' but the nose gear appeared down. Please note that I have taken photos of this tire action followed by the skidding of the plane.

Title: MOONEY M20C GEAR COLLAPSED DURING TOUCHDOWN; RESULTING IN PROP STRIKE AND MINOR FUSELAGE DAMAGE.

Narrative: UPON CTLED LNDG AND WITH GEAR EXTENDED AND WITH GREEN LOCK LIGHT ENGAGED; GEAR COLLAPSED; CAUSING BELLY LNDG ONTO RWY 26 AT ZZZ. NO INJURIES AND MINOR DAMAGE TO ACFT WITH PROP STRIKE AND SCRAPING TO UNDERSIDE OF ACFT. NO VISUAL DAMAGE TO EITHER WING AND ACFT WAS JACKED UP TO A POINT WHERE THE GEAR WAS LOWERED AND ACFT WAS PUSHED OFF THE RWY. CONDITIONS AT TIME OF INCIDENT WERE UNLIMITED VISIBILITY AND WINDS OF APPROX 260 DEGS AT 12 MPH WITH GUSTS OF 22 MPH. DUE TO 2 INCOMING ACFT; I MADE MY DOWNWIND LEG APPROX 1.5 MI TO ALLOW LNDG ACFT TO CLR RWY 26. GEAR DOWN WAS APPLIED ABEAM THE THRESHOLD OF RWY 26 AND THE EXTENDED DOWNWIND WAS FIGURED FOR AFTER POS CALLS FROM THE OTHER ACFT. APCH AND FLARE WERE GOOD AND A GOOD APCH SPD OF APPROX 75 MPH WAS MAINTAINED. THE MAIN GEAR APPEARED TO SEND ME INTO THE AIR JUST A BIT WHEN THE JOHNSON STICK DISENGAGED FROM ITS HOLDING POSITION AND CONTACT WAS MADE WITH THE RWY AND A SLIGHT SKIDDING TO THE R WHERE THE FINAL RESTING STOP WAS MADE AT MID-RWY LENGTH. FUEL WAS SHUT OFF; THE MASTER WAS TURNED OFF; AND THE PLANE WAS SHUT DOWN. EVAC WAS QUICK AND IMMEDIATE. UPON INSPECTION; BY THE LCL POLICE; OFF THE RWY; WE FOUND THE PROP IMPACT POINT AND A TIRE IMPRINT SHOWING A SWERVING MOTION FOR ABOUT 30-40 FT; LEADING DIRECTLY INTO THE SKIDDING MOTION AND SCRAPING ON THE RWY -- THE TWO APPEARED TO BE EXACTING AND FOLLOWING THE ACFT TO ITS FINAL LOCATION IN A SLIGHT R TURN BUT REMAINING ON THE RWY. WITNESSES STATE SEEING THE GEAR DOWN BUT POSSIBLY NOT ALL THE WAY DOWN AND LOCKED; AS WHAT WAS SEEN BY ME (THE PLT) WAS A LOCKED AND DOWN GEAR INDICATION. SOME STATE SEEING THE GEAR 'AT A 45 DEG ANGLE' BUT THE NOSE GEAR APPEARED DOWN. PLEASE NOTE THAT I HAVE TAKEN PHOTOS OF THIS TIRE ACTION FOLLOWED BY THE SKIDDING OF THE PLANE.
