Narrative:
After leveling off at FL350 for cruise flight and setting engine N1's at 85% RPM for .745 mach cruise; noticed the #2 engine N1's started to flux +/-10%. Told the first officer the #2 is starting to act up. Checked the pmc for any mode problem and fuel pumps and then within 30 seconds; the aircraft yawed right as N1 rolled back approximately 43-40% and egt and fuel flow decreased. Placed the start switch to 'flight' and checked the start lever in idle position. Called for the QRH engine flame-out checklist and told ATC of the problem; requested a block altitude FL350-FL330 and declared the emergency and divert ZZZ. The restart occurred spontaneously with the start switch to flight. The engine responded normally; but the engine readings were less than the #1 at both thrust levers matched. Flew a VFR approach to runway 13 ILS backup at ZZZ with no other problems noted. Turned off the runway and stopped. ZZZ fire department visually checked the aircraft and #2 engine; and then taxied to the gate.

Title: B737-300 RIGHT ENG FAILED DURING CRUISE. FLT CREW DECLARED EMER AND FLT DIVERTED.
Narrative: AFTER LEVELING OFF AT FL350 FOR CRUISE FLT AND SETTING ENG N1'S AT 85% RPM FOR .745 MACH CRUISE; NOTICED THE #2 ENG N1'S STARTED TO FLUX +/-10%. TOLD THE FO THE #2 IS STARTING TO ACT UP. CHKED THE PMC FOR ANY MODE PROB AND FUEL PUMPS AND THEN WITHIN 30 SECONDS; THE ACFT YAWED R AS N1 ROLLED BACK APPROX 43-40% AND EGT AND FUEL FLOW DECREASED. PLACED THE START SWITCH TO 'FLT' AND CHKED THE START LEVER IN IDLE POS. CALLED FOR THE QRH ENG FLAME-OUT CHKLIST AND TOLD ATC OF THE PROB; REQUESTED A BLOCK ALT FL350-FL330 AND DECLARED THE EMER AND DIVERT ZZZ. THE RESTART OCCURRED SPONTANEOUSLY WITH THE START SWITCH TO FLT. THE ENG RESPONDED NORMALLY; BUT THE ENG READINGS WERE LESS THAN THE #1 AT BOTH THRUST LEVERS MATCHED. FLEW A VFR APCH TO RWY 13 ILS BACKUP AT ZZZ WITH NO OTHER PROBS NOTED. TURNED OFF THE RWY AND STOPPED. ZZZ FIRE DEPT VISUALLY CHKED THE ACFT AND #2 ENG; AND THEN TAXIED TO THE GATE.
