Narrative:
I had adjusted my seat prior to taking the runway. At rotation my seat moved back on the track. This caused a distraction. The distraction led me to miss the departure turn. By the time I got adjusted to the new seat position I noticed we had passed our turn point. When I noticed we were past the turn point I made a course correction back to the departure. Improved seat track design. Lubrication and cleaning of seat track and locking mechanism. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated that he did not check the seat for security after making an adjustment prior to takeoff. The seat did not move enough to require transferring control of the aircraft. After the seat was again moved to the proper position; no further problem was encountered.

Title: EMB 135 FLT CREW IS DISTRACTED AS PLT SEAT SLIDES BACK ON ROTATION.
Narrative: I HAD ADJUSTED MY SEAT PRIOR TO TAKING THE RWY. AT ROTATION MY SEAT MOVED BACK ON THE TRACK. THIS CAUSED A DISTR. THE DISTR LED ME TO MISS THE DEP TURN. BY THE TIME I GOT ADJUSTED TO THE NEW SEAT POS I NOTICED WE HAD PASSED OUR TURN POINT. WHEN I NOTICED WE WERE PAST THE TURN POINT I MADE A COURSE CORRECTION BACK TO THE DEP. IMPROVED SEAT TRACK DESIGN. LUBRICATION AND CLEANING OF SEAT TRACK AND LOCKING MECHANISM. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: REPORTER STATED THAT HE DID NOT CHECK THE SEAT FOR SECURITY AFTER MAKING AN ADJUSTMENT PRIOR TO TKOF. THE SEAT DID NOT MOVE ENOUGH TO REQUIRE TRANSFERRING CONTROL OF THE ACFT. AFTER THE SEAT WAS AGAIN MOVED TO THE PROPER POSITION; NO FURTHER PROBLEM WAS ENCOUNTERED.
