Narrative:
Not sure what caused the malfunction of left gear. After landing gear retraction left gear (red) light remained illuminated slightly longer than other 2 red lights. When the gear handle was put in the off position; the left gear (green) light illuminated. The aircraft was slow in accelerating and air noise and aircraft vibration led us to suspect that the left gear was still extended. We continued to destination at 250 KTS and advised ATC we would be making a precautionary landing. Prior to selecting the gear handle down; tower was able to confirm that our left gear alone was extended. At that point we had normal landing gear indications and our landing was uneventful.
