Narrative:
Aircraft were forced to fly into a thunderstorm as per directed by tmu and supervisor to accomplish in-trail restr. Pilots reported too close to thunderstorm and in moderate turbulence. In-trail spacing was more important than safety.

Title: ZID CTLR DESCRIBED INCIDENT WHEN MGMNT/TMU DECISIONS BASED UPON FLOW RESTRICTIONS; RESULTED IN ACFT BEING ROUTED INTO WX ACTIVITY.
Narrative: ACFT WERE FORCED TO FLY INTO A TSTM AS PER DIRECTED BY TMU AND SUPVR TO ACCOMPLISH IN-TRAIL RESTR. PLTS RPTED TOO CLOSE TO TSTM AND IN MODERATE TURB. IN-TRAIL SPACING WAS MORE IMPORTANT THAN SAFETY.
